THE JOLLYMAN LETTERS: Trench Fever, Kite Balloons and 168 Cups of Tea
Herbert Jollyman was a jolly decent chap who started in the Army as a Home Service man and ended in the Royal Air Force in France. The book is based on a fascinating series of almost 200 letters written during the First World War from Herbert to his ‘darling little wife’ Hepsie, in Billericay, Essex.
With many interesting details of Herbert’s training in the Middlesex Regiment at Chatham, Kent, and his experiences behind the Western Front. A wonderfully English tale of love, war and gardening.
